As part of its weeklong event to promote professionalism in the country, the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, is set to celebrate outstanding professionals in the state.

This, according to a statement by the association, involves the presentation of awards for professional excellence to three deserving people on Saturday.

According to the statement, the guest lecturer at the award night is a seasoned and experienced speaker, Gbenga Olaniyan.

The association, whose mandate is to promote professionalism and development through interactions, cooperation and commitment to set objectives, started a weeklong programme tagged: ‘The Lagos Professionals Week,’ on Monday, with the annual public lecture themed: ‘Business without borders: Taking advantage of international collaboration’.

A career talk at for secondary school pupils in Lagos State was organised on Tuesday and books and items donated by University Press Plc and MTN Foundation were distributed to the pupils.

The APBN added that a charity visit to the Boys’ Remand Home in Oregun took place on Wednesday, while Thursday was the Environmental Day when members joined traders in Ipodo Market, Ikeja to clean the area.

The association explained, “The grand finale will hold on Saturday, October 24, 2015. This is a luncheon/award event where we will be giving out our coveted ‘Award for Professional Excellence’ to three deserving professionals.”
